Open Letter

Dear Myth & Culture Study Group

One of you isn’t doing anything at all. The other two of you aren’t much better. And girl who decided to post lastnight that we need to have our ‘final final decisions’ on our individual resources posted when girl-who-is-gone-for-four-days returns, did you even -look- at the schedule? The calendar? The due dates I posted for all of us to look over and okay? That was supposed to have been done Sunday. As in two days ago. No, you should be writing. And if you don’t write, I’m not going to coddle you. I’m going to turn in what I’ve written, since no one else bothered to offer to do the writing and turning-in, and let the rest of you swing in the wind. I am not here to coax you to do work you know you have to get done. Even I, who writes everything last minute, am working ahead of my normal schedule for this. The -least- you could do is not make it obvious you’re expecting me to do all the work.

Oh, and girl-who-is-gone-for-four-days - clips on Youtube from Hercules, and some random person’s artwork on her blog as resources for a scholarly paper? Really? Are you serious? I don’t know how you’ve gotten this far in your education, but I seriously hope you are not hoping to teach in the future. I don’t want my neices and nephews learning from someone like you.

Dear Teacher of Said Class

I really, really hope you see the difficulties I’m having in this group. I am appalled by the laziness I’m running into. Yes, I understand that people have lives, but I have one too, and I manage to set aside a couple hours every day to work on schoolwork. I do not want my grade to be dependent on the effort these three are -not- putting into their work. I know I’m a control freak, and I’m really trying to work on that, but since no one wanted to write the paper and turn it in, I had to step up. And now that I have, am I wrong for wanting to give myself the weekend to put it together? I have two other classes besides this one, all with writing assignments. Is it really too much to ask for to have these two active members adhere to a schedule that we all agreed on?

Very Frustratedly Yours
The Control Freak, Perfectionist Student
