Inauguration Day

This is history, this day. I find it rather striking to realize that in just hours, we will have this country's first non-Caucasian president. It's a very big thing for our country. I was watching the coverage .. on CBS, because I refuse to watch CNN .. and they said something about how the foundation for the White House was laid by slaves; now, an African American family will be living in that same house, the President of the USA and his family.

I'm curious to hear his speech .. I want to stay home enough to hear it before I go into work. There are many comparisons being made between Obama and Lincoln. I find that in and of itself curious .. though I hope the similarities don't follow too closely. I don't think the country needs another tragedy.

In other news .. it snowed lastnight. We didn't get a lot .. but it snowed. Jason was cute .. he had to stay up late enough to see it start snowing ... which luckily was not much past his bedtime.
